The Challenge
After completing celebrated hotel projects in South Asia (including the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay, the Padma Resort Bali, and the Alila Hotel Goa, which took HICSA’s “Critic’s Award” for Best New Hotel in India), Lisa Garriss, founder and president of the successful Singapore-based hospitality interiors firm Plum Design, decided to move the headquarters to Los Angeles in 2009. Though the firm began to design high-caliber projects in the United States, including luxury condominiums for Emaar Properties’ exclusive Beverly West Residences, Plum Design West had yet to gain critical recognition in the United States by 2012.
The Approach
Brought in by Plum Design West in 2013 to boost awareness of the firm and its new location, BPPR quickly devised a strategy that would garner immediate results while new projects were being completed stateside.
The Results
BPPR secured numerous articles within the first quarter alone, including project features in a key interiors trade magazine, international luxury consumer magazines and books recognizing Garriss as an expert in luxury hospitality design. While Garriss took a position that she “could not refuse” at Hirsch Bedner in January 2014, a permanent electronic footprint now exists highlighting Lisa Garriss’s substantial achievements at Plum Design and Plum Design West.
